Commemorative Certificate (1918)

On October 7, 1918, Mrs. Frances E. Arthur of East Cañon received a telegram from the War Department stating her son Private Clyde Duffy died in France from wounds sustained during the Battle of Saint Mihiel. He passed away almost a month before his mother received the telegram. Private Duffy enlisted in the Army in 1917 and served with the 109th Infantry in H Company. His body was interred at Lakeside Cemetery in 1921.
