Scheduled Museum Tour & Outreach Programs Policy

The Royal Gorge Regional Museum offers special guided tours for both adults or school groups free of charge.

All group tours are required to make reservations at least 3 weeks in advance of the planned day of tour to avoid scheduling conflicts with other tours and/or museum programs.

Groups are scheduled on a first come first served basis.
Days and times of scheduled tours are subject to staff availability and/or facility maintenance.

Group Size:

The total occupancy for gallery space is no more than 35 people for a guided tour. Larger groups will be split up into smaller groups to comply with safety regulations.
The Museum and Reading Room are located in a historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If special accommodations are required for accessibility, please let us know in advance.

School or Youth Groups:

Adult Chaperones: We request that visiting school groups or youth groups bring at least one adult chaperone for every 10 children in attendance. Chaperones can be a teacher, parent/guardian, nurse, or paraprofessional.
We encourage chaperones to participate in the tour and promote safe museum behavior among the student guests.

Outreach Programs

The Museum offers a range of programs for community groups at no cost to any non-profit organization, school, or assisted living facility within the county. We request at least 3 weeks’ notice to schedule any outreach program or activity. Please notify staff of any special needs or requests for a specific program.
